SASS

SASS
YOU study history, economics, politics, linguistics, and criminology. You are part of FASS, the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. You love your classes, and you love that Prof with the tattoos and the fedora and who has a hilariously bizarre sense of humour. Most of all, you love that your classmates actually give a crap.

WE are the same as you. We’re SASS, the Society of Arts and Social Sciences, and we give a crap. What else do we do (besides caring so darn hard)? Lots of things:

  • We’re a platform for different FASS departments to share ideas and build relationships between their students and between like-minded faculties at schools across the country.
  • We represent and advocate for the diverse needs and interests of FASS students to the Faculty Administration and Government, and to the Simon Fraser Student Society.
  • We’re always working to build the FASS community, by encouraging communication and debate, and the exchange of experiences and skills.
  • We plan events like our annual SASS Frosh, the SASS Arts Week, and all those SASS socials that your friends have been talking about.
  • We host career fairs, charity fairs, graduate school fairs, and other fairs that we haven’t even thought of yet (don’t worry, we’re not carnies, we just like fairs).
  • We organize academic events such as Meet the Dean, guest speaker lectures, and workshops for various skills training.

So, what else do we do? That’s up to you. After all, you’re one of us.

SASS: The Society of Arts and Social Sciences.
